Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Volume 1 - CLOSED

I often like to get on Amazon to see what the cookbook best sellers are. It came as no surprise to me to find that Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking is in the top 10. With the release of Julie and Julia, I'm sure many are running out to make recipes from this book. It's definitely one I'd love to have on my shelf! The thing I love most about "foodie" movies is that they get people excited to get in the kitchen and cook. And that's always a good thing!

So in honor of the book, the movie, and the love of cooking, this giveaway is for one copy of Mastering The Art of French Cooking, volume 1. And I may just end up buying a second copy for myself!!

  10. I am a follower of your blog...

I saw the "Julie and Julia" on Friday and simply loved it and was more inspired than ever to continue my work in the food world.

I am a long time huge fan and follower of Julia Child, saw her once in person and dined at her resto in Napa, "Julia's Kitchen" before it closed.
I have been cooking her recipes from my ancient and dog-eared 1961 copy of MtAoFC for many years and have often included the recipes in my food blog...
    http://feastingonpixels.blogspot.com/

I would love to have this copy of Mastering the Art for my sister who has been a faithful supporter of my blog, my food photography business and took the time to accompany me to the see "Julie and Julia", although she was busy.

We had a "Julia" celebration this Sunday when I made Beef Bourguignon from MtAoFC for her.
She said my Beef Bourguignon was as unctious, gorgeous and beautiful as the one in the movie...lol...that's a sister for you.

After seeing the movie and "eating the movie" I know that my sister would love to have a copy of this book, especially with the movie-tie-in cover.

I will link to this giveaway on my next blog post.

    Merci beaucoup and bon appètit...!

  143. I saw the movie and really enjoyed it! I went home super inspired to cook. I especially want to try making the boeuf bourgignon!

  144. I have not seen the movie (I haven't been out much since my babies were born) but would love to. I will probably need to wait for the DVD. I haven't tried a Julia Child recipe, but have watched some of her cooking shows on PBS. I would love to win this book so I can try some out. I love to cook and want to be able to call myself a good cook. I think it would be a great outlet for my stress and be a learning experience at the same time. Thank you for the giveaway!

  146. I would like to win this book because I am not the best cook in the world and I could use the kind of help that only the spirit of Julia Child could provide.

  156. Reasons:

I want to see the movie and am waiting patiently for it! Even though I will probably have to go on my own to see it!

I have checked and I have no french cookery books, this book would make me happy and complete!

  159. I LOVED Julie & Julia! It was the perfect, cute little movie, even my husband enjoyed it. The first cookbook I learned to cook from was a 900 page + French gourmet cookbook my Dad found at a flea market!

  160. Haven't seen the movie yet, but plan on going with my mom. I remember watching Julia when I was a little girl, and I always loved her. Maybe it was her voice, or her stature...she was truly a great, great woman!

  161. I loved the original blog of Julie and Julia. I've read the book and I can't wait to see the movie. My mom use to laugh at me because I loved to watch Julia on PBS when I was very young.

I've enjoyed what I've seen of your blog and will follow!

    Thanks!
