Cooking With All Things Trader Joe's - CONTEST CLOSED

I remember my first encounter with Trader Joe's. There isn't a Trader Joe's here where I live, but I had a roommate years ago that would rave about the store. Every time she went to visit friends or family in California, she would come back with purchases from the store and talking about how much she loved Trader Joe's.

Some time later, I took a road trip with that roommate to California, and of course - on the agenda was a stop at Trader Joe's. I was finally able to see what all her excitement was about, and I became a fan as well. Now, every time I am near a Trader Joe's, I am sure to stop. I'm jealous of all of you that have a store near you!!

Today's giveaway is all about maximizing your trips to Trader Joe's:

Cooking with All Things Trader Joe's

Deana Gunn and Wona Miniati love good food, they love to cook, and they love Trader Joe’s. Time and time again, as they shopped the aisles at Trader Joe’s, they overheard people saying, “What do you do with quinoa? How do you use tapenade? What goes well with ricotta-stuffed chicken?” Before they knew it, they were writing a cookbook: Cooking with All Things Trader Joe's.

Many of the recipes are vegetarian or can easily be made vegetarian. Ethnic dishes like Saag Paneer Lasagna are scattered throughout, as well as classic comfort foods like Comfy Chicken Pot Pie. Crowd-pleasing recipes include Peanutty Sesame Noodles, Black Bean Soup, Macho Nacho, Seafood Paella, Curried Chicken Pitas, Wilted Spinach with Attitude, Honey I Ate the Chocolate Bread Pudding, and All Mixed Up Margaritas.

People who don't know how to cook or don't want to cook will appreciate the Bachelor Quickies section, featuring frozen and ready-to-heat selections that are matched to create complete and impressive menus.

With full-color photographs for every recipe, wine suggestions, humorous personal stories, and cooking tips sprinkled throughout, this collection is a must for any Trader Joe's fan.

About the authors: Deana Gunn and Wona Miniati grew up in homes where cooking was all-important and meals were always shared at an inviting family table. Given their international backgrounds, they were exposed to various ethnic and American styles of cooking. The women met while studying engineering in Boston, and their exposure to food continued to grow, whether it was the spicy Dun Dun noodles at the local hole-in-the-wall Central Square Chinese restaurant or the amazing paella and sangria in Harvard Square.

Through necessity, as their lives became more hectic juggling kids and full-time jobs, they discovered ways to become fast and efficient cooks. Rather than resort to fast-food or frozen dinners, they found that if they used a little help with prepped ingredients at Trader Joe's, suddenly it became completely doable to still feed their families healthy, homemade meals every day.
